Local cat found in Fox
trap January 26, 2009, This
cat was found in Pitt co today , on the Worthington farm. The caller did
get up with the Pitt county animal shelter, who went out very quickly to
see about the cat ( Steve Peel from the shelter , he did let me take the
cat , I was very glad for that ,this way the male tabby will get a
second chance at life.) The cat will more than likely lose the one
leg , N.C. Dept of Wildlife was called as well as Milton Jones one of
our wildlife officers. They will be looking for who ever set this trap ,
as it is required by law to have the persons name and address on it
, being that none were found on the trap, its thought that they had no
right to trap on the land. Now this cat will live to see the vet, and we
will try to save his leg ,if not this one cats life will be saved any
way, 4 legs or 3 he will not be put to sleep . Maybe he still has part
of his 9 lives left , time will tell, so thanks go out to the lady that
called when she found the cat ,and thanks to Pitt County Animal shelter
(Mr. Steve Peel ) for giving me the chance to help this cat. There are
still caring people left ,even the ones who end up having to put them to
sleep when their ( the animals) family does not care any longer.
Anyone who would like to help foot the vet bill please call 252-524-5305
or 252-531-7972 . photos of the trap is next .
